Dr. Eleanor Chan
CEO & President

Dr. Eleanor Chan is a highly regarded lecturer, college counselor, and life coach specializing in leadership and childhood development. Her philosophy of “passion & skill make a masterpiece” propelled her to build one of the most successful education programs in country that trains brilliant young minds: American Advanced Academy is Educating Today, the Leaders of Tomorrow!

With Dr. Chan at the helm, the Academy has nabbed the much coveted “Best of the West” award in the Private & Parochial Schools category, beating out all local private schools in the area. Furthermore, the Academy was named “Best Academic Program” and “Best Academic Camp in Northern California” since 2002 by the U.S. Commerce Association.

​

Prior to founding the Academy, Dr. Chan trained Fortune 100 CEOs and authored Secrets from the CEO Office. Her re-mastered training materials are now used for emerging youth leaders across the nation, many of whom are now members of the trail-blazing & innovative millennial workforce.

​

Dr. Chan was educated at Oxford University (UK) and later continued her studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School (USA), where she won the Outstanding Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership. Additionally, Dr. Chan holds a dual PhD in Economics and Child Psychology & Gifted Learning.

Dr. Chan has won numerous awards for leadership, most notably being named SBA “Entrepreneur of the Year,” a national award recognizing outstanding enterprise, vision, and achievement. Dr. Chan was the first woman and first Asian American to receive this prestigious honor. Other awards and recognition include the SF Peace Officers Humanitarian Award for noteworthy contribution to local communities, SF Business Times Fast Track Entrepreneurs, Outstanding Asian Women of The Year, Top 25 Woman & Minority Owned Business, Who’s Who in America and ABC’s “Market Salute” for outstanding success as a woman entrepreneur & visionary.

As a sought-after speaker on entrepreneurship, Dr. Chan has addressed a wide variety of organizations including the prestigious Young Presidents’ Organization, the World Affairs Council of America, the New York City Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and the SF Chamber of Commerce, where she served two terms on the Board of Directors. She has also served on UCSF Medical Board & on the Board of Trustees of several prestigious universities.

Dr. Chan is active in community fundraisers & political areas. Dr. Chan comes from a distinguish family of entrepreneurs, doctors, and lawyers whose family clan reaches into every major country of Asia as well as Europe, Australia, and the United States. She has been a long-time Bay Area resident.

Dr. Kenneth Yu
EVP & Academic Dean

Dr. Yu is an inspiring Math genius who can make math a delight for those who hate the subject! He also has the ability and patience to make a complex concept simple enough for all to understand. 

​

Prior to teaching, Dr. Yu enjoyed a successful career in telecommunications engineering where he helped spearhead fiber optic network expansion across the United States as a team leader at US Sprint, RCA, and Bell Canada

​

Now a passionate educator, Dr. Yu has been on faculty at UC Berkeley, Cal State East Bay, Rutgers University, Golden Gate University, and College of San Mateo sharing his love for statistics and mathematics - two areas in which he holds advanced degrees. In addition, Dr. Yu won "Thesis of the Year" when completing his Ph.D.
